In this blog, I will share with you 7 Cheap hotels in NYC that cater perfectly to solo travelers. Including well-reviews, and perfect locations.

1. Pod 51 Hotels- Midtown

Pod 51 Hotels- Midtown

Pod 51 is one of the best-known names in the city when it comes to modern, affordable styles for solar travelers. This hotel understands that not every guest needs a massive room. Instead, it offers cleverly designed company specs that don’t feel cramped.

That’s located in Midtown East. Pod 51 Places you within walking distance of iconic spots like Rockefeller Center, the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA), and even Central Park.

I was studying the customer experience at Hotel Pod 51. Most people say they are efficient, friendly, and incredibly helpful staff.

Their outdoor space ace nice and the location is also great, you will meet a lot of Europeans too. Quit rooms at night with very comfy pillows, just right for a sensitive sleeper, heart way to start the morning by entering one of the less-hectic side streets as you exit the hotel, and there is a beautiful tiny park across the streets with a waterfall and lush flowers and foliage, coffee/breakfast kiosks.

Very soft meditative music plays in the halls and shared bathroom spaces in the morning, which becomes more animated in the afternoon – all great. Overall, reviewing their experience, we recommend Pod 51 if you are in Midtown.

2. The Jane Hotel – West Village

Cheap Hotels in NYC

Stepping into the Jane Hotel feels like walking into a different era. Built-in 1908, this vintage gem once housed Titanic survivors. Today. It’s one of NYC’s quirkiest and most beloved budget hotels.

The rooms are inspired by ship cabins, small, cozy, and filled with character. Most rooms come with shared bathrooms hostel experience with more charm. Because this is made for those who looking for cheap hotels in NYC.

The Jane Hotel, located in the West Village, is surrounded by cobblestone streets, leafy parks, independent cafes, and classic NYC brownstones. You are also right by the Hudson River and just a short walk to the High Line and the Meatpacking District.

On the basis of people’s reviews, this hotel nice chap and clean place to stay if you are in the West Village. Rooms with bunk beds and shared bathroom/shower, clean lines, air conditioner,  towels, TVs, Air conditioner, and a safe for your valuables.

There is a renovation going on in the building, but it’s not bothering me at all. Nice and helpful staff in the hotel. As per our recommendations, if you are looking for the cheapest one, you can try this.

    3. HI New York City Hostel – Upper West Side

    Cheap Hotels in NYC

If you are open to a hostel experience, HI New York City is an incredible option; it’s one of the largest hostels in the U.S., but it never feels overcrowded thanks to its smart layout and welcome vibe.

Located in the Upper West Side, it’s close to Central Park, Columbia University, and tons of great cheap eats. The neighborhood is peaceful yet vibrant, and it gives you a taste of authentic New York life beyond the tourist traps.

The area is fantastic, upper west Manhattan walking distance to Central Park and Riverside Park, 2 min from subway stop (103rd) f line 1 (stops Times Square, Columbus Circle, World Trade Center, South Ferry-Ferry Boat departure to Statue Liberty, Ellis Island, etc), a few blocks from supermarkets (I recommend whole foods markets at 808 Columbus Ave) convenient kitchen (NY dear, have the opportunity to cook breakfast and /or dinner nice savings for solo travelers or family/very clean shared bathrooms billiard roomTv/ etc overall you will be shocked in this price range you get so many facilities. And this place also has a safe environment, which allows you to meet people from different cultures. If you are in the Upper West Side, then we recommend this hotel. Try once.

    4. Moxy NYC Downtown – Financial District

    Cheap Hotels in NYC

Moxy NYC downtown, located in the heart of the financial district of Lower Manhattan, is a hotel that breaks the rules by design. A basketball court, arcade, a co-working recreation space, and cocktails for days.

Moxy NYC downtown is an excellent choice for travelers visiting NYC and offers a luxury environment alongside many helpful amenities, custom-designed

Rooms here are compact but super modern, think floor-to-ceiling windows, smart TVs, and cheeky decor. The lobby and lounge area double as a co-working space by day and a social hub by night. Our stay at the Moxy Downtown was great; their hotel lobby smelled nice and offered luggage storage upon request.

The food at the lounge was excellent, I ordered the Wagyu chopped cheese. Specifically, their server, Maje, and our bartender, Luis, were very kind and attractive as we waited for our room to be ready.

    5. Freehand New York – Flatiron District

    Cheap Hotels in NYC

The latest Freehand in NYC’s Flatiron Neighborhood opened in 2018. The Freehand takes over the former George Washington Hotel, which has a history as a home for creatives and is listed on the U.S. National Register of Historic Places. This is ideal for Solo travelers who appreciate art, design, and a cool, youthful vibe.

It’s located in the Flatiron Districs-central and well-connected, with easy access to subway lines and neighborhoods like Chelsea, Union Square, and Gramercy. The interiors reflect a creative spirit, with custom artwork in the rooms and communal areas.

A my reviews, I will be staging here again, and another little perk was the hotel safe, which is free during your stay, unlike most places, you have to pay an additional fee to hire the safe.

I would like to personally thank a here of the staff members, they are amazing & honestly could t help us enough. We need more of him in this world. If you are in NYC and looking for a cheap hotel in NYC, then you can choose Freehand New York.

    6. The Bowery House – Nolita

    Cheap Hotels in NYC

The Bowery Hotel, a delightfully atmospheric luxury hotel in Downtown Manhattan, although this hotel’s service feels like luxury, is the best cheap hotel in NYC. For those who value aesthetics and locations over large private rooms, the Bowery House is a unique option.

Rooms are more like pods or cabins than traditional hotel rooms. They are tiny but smartly designed. Some solo travelers may find the compactness a bit challenging, but if you are comfortable with it, you will love the price and ambiance.

Shared bathrooms are upscale and clean, and the rooftop garden is a hidden gem with a view over downtown Manhattan. You are close to Soho, Chinatown, and the Lower East Side, all of which are treasure troves for food lovers, fashionistas, and culture seekers. And there is a place, Gemma is a great spot for breakfast. Lunch and dinner, and the lounge were perfect for tracking a morning meeting and getting work done. And there is now a shortage of good coffee shops and restaurants all within walking distance. We highly recommend The Bower House.

    7. The Local NYC – Long Island City, Queens

    Cheap Hotels in NYC

While the Local NYC is technically not in Manhattan, it’s located in Long Island City (LIC), just one subway stop from midtown, and offers tremendous value, especially for solo travelers.

This industrial-chic hotel/hostel with hybrid features has dorms and private rooms. All are designed with a minimalist style and comfort in mind. The local is more than just a place to sleep, it has a one-site cafe, bar, rooftop views of the Manhattan skyline, and regular live events.

LIC is an up–and–coming neighborhood known for its arts scene, craft breweries, and stunning waterfront parks. It’s quieter than Manhattan but still full of life, and you will enjoy a more local perspective on the city.

There is a great hostel community vibe at this hotel. In the bar and lounge, you can meet a lot of people. On the rooftop, you can enjoy their regular event. Their staff are cute, smiling, and helpful. So, overall, you will get a clean and air-conditioned room. Safe environment, and friendly staff, I think this is best for everyone who looking for a cheap hotel in NYC.

    Conclusions

Traveling Solo in NYC doesn’t have to mean breaking the bank or sacrificing quality.
